a HOST is any entity that provides a unique ID card or membership to its' community members.
Hosts are usually academic institutions, employers, local communities with memberships, exclusive reward programs, fitness clubs etc...
it goes like this...
Businesses publish exclusive offers or discounts for the HOST. The HOST promotes the offer/discount to its' community members. So in the end, the community members can find offer/discount and enjoy it by simply presenting the specified HOST ID card or membership.
No codes to scan, and no limit to the number of times an offer/discount can be availed.
By simply being part of the list of public cards or memberships that are open for anyone to select, all PEODY users will easily view the benefits of the card/membership. Users interested to avail any of the public card's benefits will reach out directly to the HOST and register for it to avail the offer.
This would be an example of a Public HOST.

On the other hand, imagine a company with 2,000 employees and a gym. PEODY gives the option to provide a restricted viewing access to the discounted offer of this gym to all the employees of the company, where the company would be a HOST and the gym a PUBLISHER making an offer for the employees.
Since this offer is members-only, this would be an example of private hosting - limits the viewing of exclusive offers/discounts to its community members only.
